Pinchin' The Ham?! Of course I can! Cuz i'm over the age of 21!
1 12 oz. can of crushed pineapple
1 tsp.(a pinch) of vanilla extract
1 level tsp.(a pinch)of cinnamon
1 heapin' tsp.(equals at least 3 pinch's!)crushed cloves
2-3 handfuls of brown sugar. I don't think i'm the only cook that can get carried away with pinchin' and end up with a handful!
1cookin' bag
1 of them sucky thingie's for juice's,and bastin'

First- preset oven to 350
Get you a mixin' bowl or a ziploc baggie. Quart size cuz you wanna get your hand down in there and play with the mixture! First ingredient is the pineapple.
Then get to addin' all the other stuff to it! It's that simple!
Now, I say " Enough with the borin' spoon's!" !Stick your hand down in that mixture and squoosh away! It's fun to squoosh! And,by the way, roll your sleeve up.
Now then, have your ham already in the cookin' bag. Then just pour the mixture in on the ham.Make sure you've got it coated purdy good now! You can even put cherry's on top(holdin' them with toothpicks).
And here's a good time to have one of them sucky thingie's too! To suck up the mixture to help coat it. Unless you just like playin' in it..If that's the case, stick your hand down in that bag and get it by the handful's and just do it! Woo! Hoo!
Now put that bad boy in the oven and stop playin' around!( NO! Not the husband!)! The ham!
Of course, all ingredient's are to the individual's taste bud's,this just happen's to be mine.SWEET! By; Roberta

Do you ever have trouble getting the last little bit from a bottle of syrup or honey? After all, your time is valuable, right? Try warming it in the microwave for 10 or 15 seconds. It will speed the process us tremendously.

Winter seasonal beverage

Cooking Tips
Dec 22, 2008
here is something that is great this time of year. Hot & Spicy Holiday PunchGreat for holiday gatherings.

Using a slow-cooker to prepare this allows the aroma to be savored for hours.

(I keep a big pot of it on top of our wood stove, if we have company or an evening event going on!)

PREP TIME 5 Min

COOK TIME 8 Hrs

READY IN 8 Hrs 5 Min

(note: or you can just heat in a regular pot for about 30 minutes, then turn down on low –Kathy)

SERVINGS & SCALING

Original recipe yield: 12 servings

INGREDIENTS

2 quarts apple cider

(I sometimes use 1 + qt. Cranberry juice-Kathy)

2 cups orange juice

1/2 cup lemon juice

12 whole cloves (I put these in a tea ball and drop in the pot-Kathy)

4 cinnamon sticks

1 pinch ground ginger - (I usually don’t have ginger on hand-and it’s fine without it-Kathy)

1 pinch ground nutmeg

Note: I also wash and then cut up one orange into slices…and float them on top for

about 10 minutes, then remove so the bitter of the peeling does not get in it.

You can also just take off the peelings, and float orange pieces in there, it looks nice.

This makes it even better-Kathy

DIRECTIONS

In a slow-cooker or a large pot over low heat, combine apple cider, orange juice and lemon juice.

Season with cloves, ginger and nutmeg. Bring to a simmer.

If using a slow cooker, allow to simmer all day.

Serve hot!

Storage ideas
by Rhymin' Clown
Cooking Tips

When storing kitchen goods such as flour or sugar, it is always a good idea to label them. If the storage container is clear, you can cut the logo from the original bag and place it inside the container so that it is visible from the outside. You might think you can tell them apart but trust me, powdered sugar does not make a good substitute for flour when frying meat.

Grease is our friend.

Cooking Tips

When you are deep fryin' meat and you are using new grease or oil, your meat will not brown for awhile until you have cooked several batches. To remedy this, just drop in a stick of butter and they will come out golden brown every time.
