(The inner workings!)
For two decades this irrepressible
funnyman has been delighting not only his Atlanta
area radio audiences
but, through the electronic magic of satellites and high powered
transmitters, much of the
entire country as well. His soft, easy-going personality is as
genuine as Coca-Cola, and just
as refreshing.
Because he is dedicated
to the everyday humor we all experience in our day to day
existence.
Ludlow touches the psyche of all his listeners in very special ways. These
listeners almost immediately
think of Ludlow as a friend...a part of the family.
Hundreds and hundreds of
dinner audiences across the nation have been enthralled
with Ludlow's own brand
of wit and wisdom.
Just who is this man who
engenders such love and laughter?
Ludlow Porch more or less
"backed into" a career in radio. While trying to find his
way in the world
after having proudly served in the Marine Corps, he at one time or
another worked as a fireman,
theater usher, landscaper and insurance adjuster. As a
diversion to the pressures
of everyday life he began letting his natural humor show
through as he responded
to what he perceived as absurdities that had been published
in the local papers or
aired on local talk radio stations. The public was quick to
respond to his intelligently
delivered humorous insights. Soon, he was asked to be a
guest on a local "talk
show," and then followed a stint as a guest host! The insurance
industry's loss became
the public's gain, for Ludlow had at last found his niche. He
quickly had his own show
which just as quickly became a huge hit. His
accomplishments since have
been noteworthy to say the least!
He has been the top-rated
radio host for over 25 years.
He has appeared on Nashville
Now, The Mike Douglas Show, The B.B.C., C-Span,
CBS Radio and even
Japanese TV! He has starred in two television Specials.
He has authored 13 best-selling
humor books, including "Jonas Wilkerson Was A
Gravy Suckin' Pig",
and "Beating A Dead Horse Is More Fun Than You Think",
and eleven more!
He has been named by Sports
Illustrated as one of the Top 5 Trivia Players In The
World! He is one
of the most renown After Dinner Speakers In the country,
dispensing his own special brand
of wit and wisdom to delighted audiences
everywhere.
He is featured in the recent
PBS production "Lost Atlanta." He has been nominated
to the Radio Hall of Fame.
(Past inductees include Jack Benny, Bob Hope, Paul
Harvey, Larry King, and
Orson Wells to name just a few!)
Ludlow Porch is not only
a treasure of the South, but of "Funseekers" everywhere.
For more than 25 years
he has endeared himself to millions. His listeners have
responded to his heartfelt
philosophy,
a philosophy he refers to every single day at the
end of his show, "Whatever
else you do today, you find
somebody to be nice to."
